Annual Calendar of Events
Don't be fooled by the tranquility of picturesque Harrison Hot Springs Village. Amid natural mineral hot springs and the area's spectacular beauty, at its core beats an artistic and cultural heart. Throughout the year, the village is host to a mix of themed activities and events. Foremost among them are the World Championship Sand Sculpture* Competition and the international Harrison Festival of the Arts*.
January - Robbie Burns Day brings a tribute to the great Scottish poet involving bagpipers, Scottish dancers, and an authentic feast paraded into a special banquet at the resort.
February - Valentine's Day is a weekend designed to leave the kids behind. The weekend package is highlighted by a gourmet menu served in the Copper Room, followed by romantic dancing and Sunday brunch.
July - Canada Day celebrations are a time to hail the nation's birthday, starting with a pancake breakfast at Harrison Fire Hall. The day ends with a fireworks show from a barge in the lake directly in front of the beach next to the resort.
*July - Harrison Festival of the Arts is a 10-day celebration of world music, theatre, dance and visual arts held in the first half of July in the village for the last 23 years.
*September - World Championship Sand Sculpture Competition brings the best master sculptures in the world back to Harrison each year to compete. A small gate admission allows visitors to view their finished masterpieces until October.
October - Thanksgiving Weekend marks the end of the four-week sand sculpture competition and ushers in the spectacular bald eagle watching season on the Harrison River as they arrive to feed on the spawning salmon.
December - Festive season at Harrison offers Christmas parties and family getaways to remember, with a selection of always-delightful holiday offerings and events.
December - New Year's at Harrison is a great way to round out the year. The special New Year's party package includes a gourmet dinner in the Copper Room before ringing in the New Year with entertainment and dancing.
