employment - 2nd Sous Chef
We are currently looking for an energetic, enthusiastic and creative Sous Chef with a passion for Food and the desire to develop superior leadership skills.

Duties and responsibilities:
- Able to assist in managing the food operation of the resort and the areas in which food production and preparation takes place
- Assists in planning and implementing the production of food requirements for service outlets
- Leads by example ensuring compliance with food, sanitation, and hotel standards, rules, and regulations
- Ensures compliance with all corporate policies and procedures to ensure guest satisfaction
- Able to attend to work reliably
- Able to work safely and securely in a manner that protects the integrity and safety of the guest, associates and hotel
The successful candidate should possess the following skill-set:
- Minimum 5 years of comprehensive experience in a busy kitchen required
- Trade qualifications with inter-provincial certification required
- Journeymen papers
- Food Safe Level 1 required
- Proven experience as a team leader
- Proven ability to delegate and supervise
- Proven training skills
- Proven ability to multi-task and give and take direction well required
- Proven superior organizational skills required
- Proven outstanding verbal and listening communication skills required
- Proven ability to read and interpret documents such as menus, production schedules, reports, and procedure manuals
- Proven ability to calculate percentages, weights, amounts of food required
- Ability to construct costings, menus and to estimate labour and food costs
- Proven commitment to high standards and quality
- Maintains good sanitation and cleaning habits throughout the day
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Inventory control experience required
- Universal Service Standards (USS) skills and demonstrate constantly displaying any and all
WHMIS preferred
- First Aid Certificate preferred
- Proven Safe Work and reliable attendance record required
- Second language is an asset
- Flexible to a changing schedule
